Byron crawled today.
He’s been working on it for weeks. He could get up on his knees and hands and try to throw himself forward, and he could lift hands and feet separately, he just hadn’t quite figured out how to do all of that in the right order. Sometimes he would fall face-flat on the floor. Sometimes he’d get himself cranked up and start crying. Sometimes he’d forget what he was doing and watch a kitty cat walk by.
Here’s what made it hard — he didn’t know what he was trying to do. He doesn’t know the word “crawl,” and he didn’t quite get the concept. He just knew there was something cool he could do if he figured out what he could do.
But here’s what made it possible — he didn’t quit. So now he’s crawling.
The kid flaps his arms a lot, and I’m not going to bet against him figuring out how to fly.
