Disapproving Look-Off: Byron vs. Maggie Smith

We’ve been watching Downton Abby, an upstairs/downstairs style soap set in early 20th Century England. One of the highlights of the show is Maggie Smith, who’s given all the best one liners and glares (her character reminds me of Lady Catherine from Pride and Prejudice, one of my favorite literary “villains”).

In particular I’ve enjoyed the vast vocabulary of disapproving looks Miss McGonagall features throughout the series, from subtle but piercing glances to open eye rolls. We’ve been watching the show with Byron, who, though usually a happy lad, has also been working on a repertoire of disapproving looks. So who wins between these two?
