Mambas Released on Saturday

Please try to come to the publication party for Mamba Point at The Red Balloon Bookshop in St. Paul. They are a great bookstore. Seriously, they know so much about books… I recently asked Twitter to identify a children’s book illustration and there was the bookstore Tweeting in with the answer just a moment later. My wife then told me other stories of the massive collective knowledge of the staff at that store coming up with whatever book it is some middle-aged guy half-remembers from thirty years ago.

IF YOU ARE COMING… and I hope you are… HERE IS AN IMPORTANT UPDATE!

The Red Balloon is collecting unopened pet food and other pet care items (which can be slightly used, aside from food) for The Pet Project, in preparation for Paws on Grand. So please try to haul in some kibble for the critters. They appreciate it and I appreciate it.

The Pet Project is one of the coolest ideas I’ve heard in a while… they collect pet food to make available at food shelves, so people down on their luck don’t have to give up their pets. This keeps animals with loving families out of the shelters and off death row. It also makes a huge difference to the people who want to keep their fuzzy friends around.

In other mamba-related news, I answered a few questions for Middle Grade Ninja. Included is a newly coined aphorism which will one day be in every quote book and on the bumper of every third car. I’ll make you click on over to find it. Mamba Point is also the Ninja’s Book of the Week.
