If you’re one of the many people who read this via Facebook or an aggregator, you don’t notice a thing, but if you actually drive by once in a while, things look different. It’s green where it used to be blue, and the menu swapped sides, and it’s probably like going finding that the TGI Fridays on the frontage road by the parkway is now a Mexican restaurant.

What I’ve done is retheme the place. I meant to build up to it with announcements and a virtual ribbon cutting ceremony featuring the mayor of Blogosphere, but I just went ahead and clicked on over. What do you think? Huh? Let me tell you, a lot of the awesomeness is under the engine. This is fine German blog theme engineering right here. Widget ready and highly configurable. You can go one, two, even three columns with this baby. You can have drop down menus, too, which are like the power windows of blogs. I don’t have them because I don’t need them, but if I ever do, boy, those things will be super neat.

Actually I’m not done, either, so put on your hardhats. I’ll tweak colors here and there over the next little while, and eventually… this is the part I’m most excited about… I’ll have some smart looking banner graphics. The default placeholder graphic should work in the interim. Who knows what’s in that grass up there. Muddy baseballs? Snakes? Snakes playing baseball?

  1. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with your awesome new design, or if the problem is on Blogger’s end, but for about a week now the feed to your blog hasn’t been updating in my Blogger reader window thingy. šŸ˜¦

  2. I’ve noticed that in Google Reader, too, and some additional problems with Google searches that have been around since before the theme change. I don’t know what to do about it. It’s really frustrating. Still, thanks for letting me know. I’m trying to figure out what (if anything) I can do.

  3. It works again! I did a whole bunch of security things last week after having some issues; apparently one of those messed with the RSS feed (even though it shouldn’t have). Anyway, glad to aggregated instead of aggravated.
